Unveiling Creativity: Where Do Creative Ideas Come From?

Where Do Creative Ideas Come From

Introduction – The Source of Creativity

In this blog, we will unravel the mysteries surrounding the origins of creative ideas.

Have you ever asked yourself “what is the source of creativity”? Have you ever wondered, “Where can creativity truly be found”? The tantalizing promise of an answer propels us into an examination of the multifaceted nature of creativity.

Creativity and the Creator:

Most people have never really understood the concept of creativity and the origin of creativity because they’ve not taken time out to study the creator God.

God created the heavens and the earth. He created everything out of nothing. He is the orchestrator of creativity. So in a nutshell, creativity comes from above. The bible says a man can receive nothing except be given to him from above.

Distinguishing Creativity from Innovation:

It is important to distinguish between creativity and innovation before we dive into the where creativity can be found. This is because many people misunderstand and confuse creativity with innovation. Hence it is difficult for such people to identify the source of creativity. when we’re talking about the source of creativity or the channels of creativity We are not necessarily talking about innovation.

The difference between creativity and innovation, like I always say, is that creativity is creating something out of nothing and innovation is creating something out of something. In my last episode, I explained to you 6 channels where you can get innovative ideas and the summary of that is that innovative ideas or innovation comes from under the sun because Solomon said, there is no new thing under the sun.

And so if there are no new things under the sun, it means there are new things above the sun. And that’s where creativity lives. So creativity can only be received from above the sun, from above. So now that we know that creativity comes from above, how do we tap into this source of creativity? How do we get more creative?

How do we generate creative ideas intentionally and not by fluke or by mistake? Now in this article, I’m going to uncover ten different channels through which you can tap into creativity and generate creative ideas. The ten channels where you can find creative ideas are:

  1. Visions
  2. Dreams
  3. The 4th Dimension
  4. Asking Questions
  5. Your Intuition – human spirit
  6. Inspired Words
  7. Other Creatives
  8. Fellowship with the Spirit
  9. Fellowship with the word
  10. The Infilling of the Spirit

Channels and Source of Creativity:

The podcast unfurls four intentional channels through which creativity can be accessed, providing a roadmap for those seeking to tap into this divine source.

1. Visions:

Now let’s dive into the first way you can tap into creativity through visions. Whenever you mention the invention of cars, The name that comes to mind is Henry Ford, but did you know that Henry Ford was not the one who invented cars? The person who invented cars can be known as Karl Benz, the founder of the Mercedes Benz line of vehicles.

So why is Henry Ford reputed to be one of the founders of the automobile revolution? Henry Ford had a vision and his vision was simple. He wanted cars to be affordable for the masses. Before Henry Ford came up with this vision, Karl Benz had already invented the car, but his model of cars were too expensive for the masses.

Henry ford conceived the vision to make cars affordable for the masses by virtue of conceiving that vision henry ford came across a lot of problems. And in order to solve those problems he needed to do something that no one else had ever done before he needed to create something out of nothing he needed to bring into being a system that never existed before and that was how Henry Ford invented mass production, producing cars in batches.

He ended up bringing down the time for producing cars from 12 hours to 90 minutes with the creation of his assembly line model of producing vehicles. That was creativity at best. Now this shows you how vision can help stimulate your creativity to function. It can help you tap into the realm where creativity lives.

And bring ideas that no one ever tried or thought of before and bring it into existence, bring it into being. Because that is exactly what creativity is all about. Creativity is all about bringing something into existence that never existed before or causing something to multiply. On the other hand, visions, have the remarkable ability to stimulate creativity, turning mere ideas into tangible realities.

This brings to mind a king named Uzziah in the Bible. The Bible records that he invented Machines and engines in Jerusalem to shoot arrows and big stones from across the tower. Now because of that invention, his name spread abroad and the Bible says this happened because he was marvelously helped by God.

Now how was he marvelously helped by God? If you study the book of 2nd Chronicles 26 verse 5, the Bible tells us exactly how Uzziah was marvelously helped. The Bible says Uzziah sought God in the days of Zechariah. A man who had the understanding of the visions of God and as long as he sought God, God made him to prosper.

So Uzziah was a man of vision. He always aligned his heart with the visions of God. And as these visions became clear to him, it helped open him to an unusual realm of creativity and that was what helped him with the invention of engines and machines that helped him win wars even in the days of old when technology was nothing like it is now.

Think about Moses. Moses built a tabernacle without having a degree in architecture by tapping into creativity through the vision that God showed him on the mountain. Think about Solomon. Solomon supervised the building of the temple without having a degree in civil engineering by tapping into the vision to build a temple.

Think about Noah. Noah built an ark, built a big massive boat without having a degree in ship making. by tapping into the visions of God. Now, I’m in no way, shape, or form suggesting that having a degree is unnecessary, but what I’m trying to stimulate in you is that in whatever you do, you want to make sure that you are attuned with the visions of God.

You want to have a vision that is bigger than you. When you’re able to catch that vision, even though it’s bigger than you as at the time when the vision is set in motion, it opens you up to a dimension of creativity because you’re trying to bring something that does not exists into existence.

When you cast a vision to bring something into existence that has never existed before, it attracts onto you the men, the materials, the resources, the finances, and the circumstances required to create that reality for you.

And that brings about creativity. The ideas that you need, the skills that you need, the resources that you need begin to come in fusion. All to make that vision come to pass.

2. Dreams:

The power of the subconscious mind, accessed during sleep, is a potent force in the creative process.

Now history is replete with individuals, with inventors, with creators, who came across their best ideas in their dream state, in their subconscious state.

And I’ll give you an example. Did you know that the man who founded the periodic table in chemistry struggled for a while until he had a dream? And in that dream, he saw a table where all the elements fell in place. And when he woke up from that dream, he wrote down what he saw in the dream and he finalized it in addition to all that he had worked on before and with the help of that creative idea he got in that dream, it helped him picture the periodic table in a better way and that was how he was able to finalize something on which all of modern chemistry is built today.

Now that is fabulous. There are many other creative inventions that came in the dream state. For example, the sewing machine needle. came to Elias Howe in his dream state.

He was in a dream and he was about to be executed by a king who had ordered his soldiers to kill him and as they were about to run him through with their spears he saw in that dream state that the spears that they were going to use to run him through had an opening like the eye of a needle in the edges and that was his eureka moment.

He woke up from that dream state and he went on to finish up the first model of the sewing machine needle that you are now used today. Another example is the man Strive Masiyiwa. Before he founded Econet Group, he would see dreams of big buildings and big towers like broadcasting towers all over the world and that dream kept him on fire to overcome all the obstacles that he faced when he tried to establish one of the biggest telecoms companies in Africa.

Now why am I sharing this with you? I’m sharing this with you to ignite your creativity. That sleeping and dormant creativity inside of you that has yet to gain expression because you’re undermining the pictures, the dreams, the visions that God has put in your heart. You think it’s just a dream. You think it’s just a thought.

You think it’s just an imagination. But that is God. Actually. Prompting you into your creative space where the world is waiting for you to dominate.

This is a call to recognize the significance of those seemingly random dreams that may harbor the seeds of genius.

3. From the 4th Dimension:

Now there are zero dimensional thinkers, there are one dimensional thinkers, there are two dimensional thinkers, there are three dimensional thinkers and there are 4D thinkers. Now the 4th dimension is a realm far removed from the 3rd dimensional plane of existence where you and I live. The 4th dimension is a realm that is invisible to the optical eyes.

What is the 4th Dimension?

The 4th dimension is a realm bounded on the north. by wisdom, bounded on the south by knowledge, bounded on the west by faith, and bounded on the east by understanding.

The fourth dimension is a realm where you can find ideas if you tune into the right frequency. Just like you have radio waves in the atmosphere and the moment you are able to tune into the right frequency, you begin to get radio signals.

That is the same way we have creative ideas, creativity signals in the fourth dimensional frequency. And when you are able to tune into that frequency you’ll be able to get and tap creative ideas and bring them into the third dimensional plane where you can bring those creative signals, those creative ideas into reality for people to touch, see, feel and experience the reality of those ideas.

Now the man George Washington Carver was a man who discovered 300 inventions from the peanuts and was reputed to have said that there were radio waves carrying inaudible music around and only people who can tune into that frequency are able to tap into that music. Now that man discovered 300 inventions from the peanuts and he understood this principle of 4th dimensional thinkers.

There are many inventions, many ideas, many creations that are catalogued in the 4th dimensional plane of existence and only people who are able to tap into that realm will be able to pull ideas. Did you know that all the fabulous inventions that we see around today, they have always been in existence many years before they were even discovered on earth?

Did you know that inventions of technology could have been possible a thousand years ago?  If people were sensitive enough at that time or if their minds were developed and mature enough to pull those ideas. Now even as you’re listening to this, there are still many ideas, many creative signals that are hovering around in the fourth dimensional plane of existence waiting for interested seekers.

These ideas have been catalogued there by God. Waiting for those who would unlock it through curiosity.

Venture beyond the conventional dimensions and embrace the abstract realms of the 4th dimension. By transcending the limitations of three-dimensional thinking, you open yourself to unconventional perspectives, paving the way for avant-garde ideas and groundbreaking concepts.

4. Asking Questions:

The first female prime minister of India goes by the name Indira Gandhi. And interestingly, she’s in no way related to the famous Mahatma Gandhi. Now, that’s by the way. But Indira Gandhi made a very profound statement. She said, questions are the basis for all human progress.

How true! Now if I were to take a cue from that, I would say questions are the basis for all human invention and creation. Every creation and invention of humans came by reason of a question and that is why you must not Overlook the importance of asking questions in your career in your job in whatever it is that you do I know there are people who mock you who laugh at you for asking questions that we often call silly questions But i’ve come to discover in my career that those seemingly silly questions sometimes hold the greatest answers that unlock Creative Ideas and Creative Manifestations.

Even the Bible says, Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. The Bible also says, You have not because you ask not. So, one way to tap into creative ideas is to actually ask for those ideas. Ask questions and there are different resources and different sources that you can ask for answers when you feel like you need that creative boss.

You can ask God like Solomon did when he asked God for wisdom. You can ask yourself because you have a human spirit inside of you who listens to you and who answers you when you ask. You can ask the Holy Spirit. You have the Holy Spirit that searches all things, even the deep things of God. And you can ask people around you.

You can even do a Google search. Just ask questions. Because asking questions is a vital key to unlocking your creativity.

5. Your Intuition – The Human Spirit

Now the next way you can tap into creative ideas or generate new ideas is through your human spirit. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs 20 verse 27, it says:

the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord searching the inward parts of the belly.

So every man has this candle in him whether born again or not and that’s why you see that even atheists can manifest creativity because they have a human spirit in them and this human spirit if conditioned and trained properly is able to generate creative ideas by tapping into the spirit realm or the fourth dimensional realm where creative ideas and creative signals have been catalogued.

Now whenever people get a creative idea or a mind shift they say oh that was a light bulb moment because it feels as if a light was turned on on the inside. No wonder Paul, when he was praying in the book of Ephesians, he prayed that we would receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him and that the eyes of our understanding be flooded with light, be illuminated.

Why was Paul making that prayer? because the moment the eyes of your understanding or the eyes of your human spirit is lit up or is flooded with light you are able to see and know and know things and find creative ideas. Now sometimes when a creative idea comes into your human spirit it comes like a hunch it comes like an intuition like a gut feeling you just know deep inside of you that this idea would work or you just know that this is the solution to that problem that is your intuition.

That is a function of the human spirit that is at work on the inside of you. Now, that is another way you can receive creative ideas. Now, the thing about these things that I’m sharing with you is that if you’re not conscious of them, you’d pass over these opportunities repeatedly when they show up. You would not know how to tap into it or how to harness these things, even if these things are already operational in you.

But the moment you get this consciousness that creativity is residing on the inside of you and that you can tap into it consistently by navigating the fourth dimension and you also have the infilling of the holy spirit which also makes you creative by design. You would need to take advantage of these avenues.

6. Inspired Words:

Another way to receive creative ideas is by listening to inspired words. You see, creativity is infectious. And one of the ways to communicate creativity is through words. Now, what are words?

Words are simply thoughts clothed in vocabulary. Now, if you listen to the man named Steve Jobs, a man who founded the Apple company, one of the greatest companies of all times, Steve Jobs had an extraordinary way of inspiring creativity in all those who worked with him. He had an extraordinary way of painting pictures in the minds of people in a way that they see themselves.

featuring in those pictures and they see themselves getting a desired outcome or a preferred future in the pictures through the words that he speaks to them. He inspired the world to using phones without keypads by his words. He inspired a revolution in the world ecosystem with his words.

Creativity is very contagious and communicable through words and that is why if you are a manager, if you are someone who is a leader, you want to be able to use words in an inspiring way to create pictures in the hearts of people.

Because one of the ways we can be creative is by listening to inspired words. Even God communicated his creative thoughts through words. God never created anything without speaking first.

The Bible would say, that God said, let there be, and then there was. God said, let us do, and then they did. Words are one of the most powerful ways to transmit creativity or to tap into creativity.

Now, why is this important? Even the Bible says by thy word you shall be justified and by thy words you shall be condemned. It is important to be very conscious of the kind of words you allow into your heart because every word that comes into your mind is creating a picture is creating an image that turns into an imagination and when that imagination is allowed to grow it produces an action.

When it produces an action you’re either creating something destructive or creating something constructive so if you want to be a constructive creator you want to only open up your mind to words that add value to people.

7. Other Creatives:

The next way you can tap into the source of creativity is by mingling with creative people. The Bible says, as iron sharpeneth iron, so does a man sharpen the countenance of his friend. The Bible also says that He that works with the wise become wise, but the companion of fools shall be destroyed.

So when you work with people who are creative, you become creative by association. But when you move with people who are destructive, you will be destructive and ultimately be destroyed.

Always be on the lookout for opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations and make new connections. The exchange of ideas with other creative individuals can lead to fresh perspectives and innovative solutions.

Creativity breeds in collaborative spaces. Engage in conversations with like-minded individuals, attend workshops, or participate in creative communities. By rubbing minds with other creative souls, you expose yourself to diverse perspectives and unique approaches, fostering an environment ripe for creative ideation.

8. The Holy Spirit’s Infilling

Did you know that the very first time that God filled a man with the Holy Spirit, it was not to enable that man to speak in tongues? Did you know that the first time that God filled a man with the Holy Spirit, He did it to make the man creative?

Now the importance of knowing this is that you could be filled with the Holy Spirit and not know how to use the capacity that that brings you if you don’t know what I’m sharing with you.

There are people who are filled with the Holy Spirit but they are not creative as they should be. Because they don’t know that the Holy Spirit actually came into them to make them creative.

Now, I’m going to take you through the first place in the Bible where God actually filled a man with the Holy Spirit. Now, here’s what the Bible says.

See, I have called by name, Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to devise cunning works, to work in gold and in silver, and in brass, and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Aholiab. Ahishamak of the tribe of Dan and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom that they may make all that I have commanded thee.

Exo 31:2-6

Now that is amazing. Now if you look at verse 3 of Exodus 31 again, God Himself was speaking and he said, “I have filled him with the spirit of God in wisdom… and in understanding and in all manner of workmanship”.

Now if you read Exodus 31 from verse 3 in the Message Translation, you’re going to understand what I’m saying even better. The Bible says, “I filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him skill and know how and expertise in every kind of craft to create designs and work in gold, silver, and bronze to cut and set gemstones to carve wood. He’s an all round craftsman.

Now, that is amazing because God is saying, I have filled Bezalel with my Spirit so that he can create designs needed for the tabernacle. So in essence, God wanted to make Bezalel to be more creative and to be able to create make build all the artistic work for the tabernacle and the first thing god did was to fill him with the Holy spirit so that means that being filled with the Holy spirit induce you with creative ability according to the scripture that we just read. Now, in case you’re still doubting me, I’m going to show you another scripture.

In the book of Acts 1 verse 8, the Bible says something very profound, and Jesus was the one speaking here, and he said,

You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, in Judea, Samaria and unto all the uttermost parts of the earth.

The word power there comes from a Greek word, Dunamis, and the word Dunamis actually means inherent ability.

Inherent ability to effect changes. It also means creative ability. Now that word dunamis is also akin to the word dynamo. And dynamo represents a generator that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. So that word also talks about the ability to bring a change, to bring a change of state.

Creativity is what enables you to take raw food or unprocessed food and process it. And change the state of that raw material and make it something that people can buy Something that people can eat something that people can cook.

Creativity is what helps you change the state or the energy level of a source material and produce something entirely new from it.

So another way to represent creativity is the ability to bring change, to effect changes, to create a new experience, to bring a change of state. And when Jesus Christ was saying, you shall receive. power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. He was saying in essence that you shall receive miracle ability, creative ability.

You shall receive the ability to effect changes after the Holy Ghost has come upon you and then you shall be witnesses. Now how do you think God wants us to be witnesses? The original design of God is not for us to just witness by telling stories. God’s design is for us to witness by manifesting our creativity.

God wants us to bear witness of his wisdom, power, and glory by displaying and manifesting our creative ability through the mighty works that we do. And that is the primary reason why he gave us the Holy Spirit. among others. So I have nothing against speaking in tongues because that is something I also enjoy in my relationship with God.

But according to scripture, it is clear to see that the primary purpose that the Holy Spirit came into us was to unleash our creativity, to magnify our creative ability, to activate our creative ability. So if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, And you are not manifesting the creativity that God has deposited in the inside of you.

Then you need to do something about it and you need to ignite that creativity of yours that seems to be dormant. Read this book to ignite your creativity.

Ignite Your Creativity
Ignite Your Creativity

The Holy Spirit was not given to us just to speak in tongues. As beautiful as speaking in tongues is, there’s more to having the Holy Spirit than just being able to speak. in tongues. The primary purpose of having the Holy Spirit is to unleash your creativity, to release your creativity, to be able to effect changes in your environment, in your workplace, and in everything that you lay your hands to do.

It’s a sad reality that Most believers are only conscious of the fact that the power of God can bring bodily miracles to them, but they have not been made aware of the fact that that same power of God can bring to them mind miracles. And what is a mind miracle? A mind miracle is the extraordinary ability To use the power of your mind, to use the forces of your mind to bring a change, a desired change into existence.

So when someone conceives an idea and produces something, produces a solution, produces a result, produces an outcome that the world needs, that person is using the forces of his mind to bring about a change. And that is one of the primary reasons why you have the Holy Spirit.

9. Fellowship with the Spirit:

Intriguingly, this blog takes a spiritual turn as it introduces the concept of fellowship with the spirit of God. Drawing from biblical references, it is clear to see that there are creative ideas hidden in the divine realm, waiting to be unveiled through communion with the Holy Spirit. This spiritual dimension adds a layer of depth to our understanding of creativity.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1 Cor 2:9-10 KJV

Now there are creative ideas that the world has never seen, and that will make the kings of this earth, that will make the veterans of industries, that will make the presidents of nations to buckle when they hear and see the manifestation of that creative idea and God wants to use you to deploy that creative idea but these creative ideas are hidden in God and it’s only through fellowship with the Holy Spirit that you can pull them out.

Who told you that as an inventor you do not need to fellowship with the Holy Spirit? Who told you that as a creator you do not need to fellowship with the Holy Spirit? In the place of fellowship and communing with God, you can get creative ideas for your job, you can get creative ideas for your business, you can get creative ideas for your creative manifestation and unveiling.

10. Fellowship with the Word:

If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

John 15:7

Now in John 15 verse 7, Jesus said, If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you would ask what you want. And it will be done unto you. Now, the word done in that verse comes from a Greek word, ginomai. And ginomai means to be brought into existence. So what Jesus was saying in essence is that you can ask what you want and it will be created for you.

It will be brought into existence for you. So you can actually ask God for creative ideas and it will be brought into being for you. And through you, the world will come to experience the manifestation of that creative idea. And this brings to mind the man named George Washington Carver. Now, George Washington Carver discovered 300 inventions from the peanuts.

And when he was asked, how did you come about this? He said, I got it from an old book. And then the man asked him what old book he said the bible. The man said whoa, does the bible talk about peanuts? And then he said no, the bible talks about the god that made the peanut. So George Washington Carver was a man famed for inventions through his fellowship with the world.
