Why Birth Your Brainchild?

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if everyone manifested their creativity? Imagine a world where every person took their unique ideas and turned them into profitable ventures or solutions that make the world a better place.

Unfortunately, many people take their innovative ideas to the grave without ever realizing their potential. It’s vital for our own prosperity and for the advancement of society that we birth our brainchildren—ideas that we have yet to bring to fruition. 

What Would the World Be Like?

When I got married seven years ago, my wife and I made the decision not to have kids for the first few years. In the culture of the society where I lived back then in Nigeria, people would ordinarily assume that once you get married, you should have children within the first few months, let’s say nine months to two years. When that didn’t happen for us, people started asking questions, expressing concern, and even holding prayer meetings on our behalf.

 Through that experience, I came to understand what people who are actually trying for a baby go through when they’re in the period of waiting. It made me think: What would the world be like if people were as eager for us to birth our brainchildren as they were for us to birth a human child? What if people put as much concern and effort into encouraging one another to bring their ideas to life? 

The Graveyard – The Wealthiest Spot on Earth 

Myles Monroe once said that the graveyard is one of the wealthiest spots on earth. Not the diamond mines in Arabia, not the gold mines in South Africa, but the graveyard. Why? Because the graveyard is home to countless unrealized ideas—brainchildren that were never birthed. These are ideas that people carried with them to their graves, never given a chance to materialize. 

There are several reasons people do not bring their brainchildren to life: 

1. Discouragement: 

Many individuals falter in their journey of bringing an idea to fruition due to lack of encouragement or outright discouragement from their environment. 

2. Fear of Failure:

The fear of what might go wrong, and the insecurity that comes from possible rejection, holds many back from taking the initial steps. 

3. Lack of Resources:

Sometimes, the absence of necessary resources or support systems becomes a significant barrier. 

4. Misguided Perfectionism:

The endless pursuit of perfection often delays and sometimes halts the creative process.

Overcoming Discouragement and Other Barriers

One of the prominent barriers to birthing your brainchild is discouragement. I once met a guy who had been working on a project for three years. Despite reaching out to about 50 companies for partnership, he received no responses and was on the brink of giving up. When he shared his idea with me, I saw immense potential in his work. I told him he was suppressing his inner Zuckerberg.

This image of suppressing one’s inner genius resonated deeply with him. Many of us may find ourselves in similar situations, suppressing our inner Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, or Bill Gates. The key is to recognize that potential within us and refused to be subdued by discouragement. After our conversation, I inspired him to re-evaluate his approach and provided him with strategies and tactics to overcome his barriers.

Within six months, he had generated over $100,000 from the idea that had once been stuck on his computer for three years. This illustrates the power of perseverance and the right guidance.

Unleashing Your Creativity

When facing challenges that impede the realization of your idea, it is crucial to deploy your creativity. Creativity is the force that allows you to solve problems and overcome obstacles. Here’s how you can ignite and manifest your creativity:

Understand that failure is not the end but a part of the learning process. Each failure teaches you something valuable about your idea and how to improve it. 

2. Seek Support and Mentorship: 

Find mentors or supportive communities that can provide guidance, resources, and constructive feedback. 

3. Break Down Big Goals into Smaller Tasks: 

Large projects can be overwhelming. Break them down into manageable tasks to maintain momentum and make steady progress. 

4. Stay Persistent: 

Persistence is key. Many successful people faced numerous rejections before achieving their breakthrough. 

5. Innovate Constantly: 

Don’t be afraid to pivot or modify your idea based on feedback or new insights. Continuous innovation keeps your brainchild relevant and poised for success.
